Two bomb blasts near Iran general Qasem Soleimani’s tomb

Two bomb explosions near the tomb of Iranian general Qasem Soleimani on the fourth anniversary of his assassination by the US have resulted in at least 73 deaths and 171 injuries, according to Iran’s state media. The incident occurred during a procession near the Saheb al-Zaman mosque in Kerman, with the state broadcaster Irib labeling it a “terrorist attack.” A video online appears to show several bodies on a road. The victims were participating in a ceremony commemorating Gen Soleimani, considered a highly influential figure in Iran, assassinated in a 2020 US drone strike in Iraq.
