A high school physics professor was trying to teach his students a lesson, but ended up learning a hard one himself — taking an ax to his groin in an experiment gone horribly wrong.

Lying on the floor, the teacher held a nail-filled piece of wood against his chest with a concrete block balanced on top while a coworker stood above him with the ax in his hands.

“The lab is to demonstrate that Pressure = Force / Area,” Haneef Mubarak, a student in the class, explained on YouTube. “A concrete block is laid on top and then destroyed. He will still be fine, as the force is spread out over a large area. He’s done this demo for many years and nothing bad ever happened.”

On this occasion, however, something bad did happen as the school employee with the ax swings down, misses the concrete block, and slams the ax directly into the teacher’s crotch.

Luckily for the teacher, and his potential future children, the ax was facing pointy side up. Despite the title of the video, Mubarak says the teacher did keep his job.

“He was just fine — it was a graze — not a full on partitioning,” Mubarak said on Reddit. “The teacher walked funny for like a couple of days and then he was just fine.”
