OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney faces suspicion of murdering her boyfriend, Christian ‘Toby’ Obumseli, as she was arrested in Hawaii. Clenney, a social media influencer boasting 2 million Instagram followers, was apprehended during her stay at a Hawaiian rehab center. Despite claims of cooperation in the investigation and willingness to surrender voluntarily, her attorney, Frank Prieto, asserts they look forward to clearing her name in court.
The arrest follows a four-month police investigation into the April 3 death of Obumseli, categorized as a domestic violence-related incident. Clenney and Obumseli’s relationship, dating less than two years, was marked by numerous domestic disturbance complaints, prompting eviction proceedings at their luxury Miami apartment complex. Clenney, previously arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas, faced repeated police visits for domestic disturbances in their Austin, Texas home.
Despite multiple breakups, the couple seemingly reconciled in the days leading to Obumseli’s death. On April 1, police responded to a domestic disturbance call at their apartment. Two days later, Clenney reported stabbing Obumseli, leading to her arrest.
Obumseli’s family has called for Clenney’s arrest, claiming unfair treatment due to her privilege as a wealthy white woman. They argue that, despite frequent police visits, Obumseli was never charged. Jeffrey Obumseli contends that the detective on the case prematurely concluded the incident wasn’t a crime of violence within 24 hours of Toby’s death.
While the arrest warrant remains sealed, the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office is expected to share additional details during a press conference Thursday afternoon. The case highlights not only the tragic events surrounding Obumseli’s death but also the complexities and challenges of relationships marked by domestic disturbances.
