A Military Police sergeant was seriously injured after suffering an accident while rappelling, in the Santo Hilário district, in Pimenta, in the southern region of Minas Gerais.

The 56-year-old victim had an accident while trying to perform a maneuver. He didn’t pay attention to where he tied the support rope and ended up hitting a stone wall and then the support pillar of the bridge from which he jumped during a pendulum movement. As a result of the impact, he suffered several injuries and lost consciousness.

In a video circulating on social media, it is possible to see the moment the soldier collided with a pillar. “My God in heaven. Come on guys”, said people who witnessed the accident.

Due to the impact, the victim lost consciousness and suffered several injuries. He was left hanging by the rope until he was rescued by the Fire Department. The soldier was taken to Santa Casa de Piumhi for medical care. Due to the severity of the condition, he had to remain hospitalized.
