In the early hours of Saturday, August 31, the city of Cúcuta was shaken by yet another act of violence at the Farma Plus Molina Drugstore, situated at the intersection of 10th Street and 18th Avenue in the Cundinamarca neighborhood. The tranquility of the morning was shattered when Luisa Fernanda Camacho Pacheco, the drugstore’s manager and owner, became the target of a brutal assault.
A lone assailant, riding a motorcycle, approached the drugstore with a chilling precision. He wielded a firearm equipped with a silencer, which he used to fire multiple shots at Camacho Pacheco. The bullets struck her in various parts of her body, including her face, neck, arms, and hand, leaving her in critical condition. The attacker, having executed his grim task, swiftly fled the scene on his motorcycle, disappearing into the morning traffic.
This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragic event at the same location, where Daniela Estefanía Saa López was murdered, an event captured by the drugstore’s security cameras. The footage from these cameras, which Camacho Pacheco had previously turned over to the authorities, has now become pivotal in the investigation of both crimes, suggesting a possible link between the two attacks.
The community of Cúcuta, already on edge from the previous violence, is now gripped with fear and speculation. The local police, along with the judicial authorities, are delving deep into the case. They are exploring all avenues, from the possibility of a personal vendetta to organized crime involvement, including extortion, which has been a growing concern in the area.
The investigation is still in its nascent stages, with law enforcement officials working tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to the attack. They are not only looking into the connection with the earlier murder but are also considering if these incidents could be part of a larger pattern of criminal activity in the region.
As the authorities continue their search for the assailant and strive to unravel the motives behind these violent acts, the city of Cúcuta waits in anticipation for justice, hoping for an end to the cycle of violence that has recently marred its streets.
