Tragic Accident in Los Mochis: Worker Electrocuted During Air Conditioner Maintenance

A 28-year-old worker, Francisco, was critically injured in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, after being electrocuted while adjusting a metal ladder near high-voltage cables during an air conditioning maintenance job. The incident occurred on the roof of a business on Libertad Street, where he was attempting to reposition the ladder to access higher parts of the structure.

The accident unfolded when Francisco inadvertently moved the ladder into contact with the high-tension cables, resulting in an electric shock that set the cables alight momentarily. The force of the shock caused him to fall backward off the roof, landing between two parked cars on the street below.

Suffering from the impact, Francisco sustained severe injuries including second and third-degree burns, fractures, and a head injury. He was found unconscious on the pavement, having hit the edge of one of the cars during his fall. The entire incident was captured by the business’s security cameras.

Social media users later criticized the lack of safety precautions, particularly noting the absence of insulated gloves which could have mitigated the risks associated with working near electrical hazards. The community’s response highlighted a broader discussion on workplace safety standards.
