On September 11, 2022, in Vinh City, Nghệ An, Vietnam, a violent altercation broke out between 25-year-old Nguyễn Thế Trung and 40-year-old Mr. T.T.A., both employees at a massage center for the visually impaired.
The conflict arose from a disagreement over a taxi fare payment following a karaoke outing.
A video of the incident shows Trung lying on the ground, pretending to be dead, while Mr. T.T.A. kicks him in the head. The situation escalated when Trung suddenly retaliated by striking Mr. T.T.A. on the head with a brick. Unfortunately, the brick ricocheted and injured a bystander, causing head injuries.
Local residents called an ambulance for the injured, but Trung blocked its path, delaying medical assistance. Police from Hà Huy Tập ward and Vinh City quickly arrived at the scene, restored order, and apprehended Trung.
Authorities reported that the group involved in the altercation had been drinking alcohol prior to the incident. Trung is currently detained as the investigation into the violent episode continues. The final outcome of the investigation has not been disclosed.
