Road Rage Turns Violent on Vyborg Highway: Elite Car Owner Fires Shots in Traffic Dispute

On June 29, at approximately 7 PM, a 36-year-old man driving an Opel Astra reported a road conflict to the police, which occurred on Vyborg Highway. According to the report, he was involved in a dispute with the driver of a white Range Rover. The incident began when the Range Rover attempted to cut in front of the Opel Astra, leading to a heated exchange. When the Opel driver did not allow the maneuver, the Range Rover driver stepped out, escalating the situation by smashing the side mirrors of the Opel. In response, the Astra’s driver used a gas canister, but this only provoked the Range Rover driver further, who then fired shots from what was later identified by police as a traumatic pistol. The Astra driver managed to take cover behind his vehicle, escaping unharmed from the gunfire.

The aftermath of the confrontation showed no need for medical attention, but the Opel Astra sustained noticeable damage. Local law enforcement, upon receiving the report, began an investigation into the incident.

They are currently working to identify the shooter, described as wearing a white T-shirt, and are examining the scene for further evidence. The community has been left in shock, and the police are urging anyone with information that could help identify the shooter to come forward. This incident has raised concerns about road safety and the escalation of minor traffic disputes into violent confrontations. The police have emphasized the importance of calm and lawful behavior on the roads to prevent such occurrences in the future.
