Videos emerged on social media showcasing a man wandering naked in the south zone, near the Instituto Federal do Sul de Minas, engaging in confrontations with military police. The footage captured him in a chaotic state, having allegedly used drugs and damaged a vehicle, as reported by the Military Police.
In one video, the man is seen ignoring police commands to halt, resulting in officers using pepper spray and a stun gun. Despite these measures, he attempted to assault an officer with a flying kick, leading to a scuffle where he briefly managed to stand despite the police presence.
Further escalation occurred when a local resident attempted to assist by bringing a rope, but the man continued his aggressive behavior towards the officers. Eventually, the police managed to subdue him, as shown in subsequent videos.
The Military Police detailed that the incident began with reports of the man throwing himself in front of traffic on Avenida Alcoa. Upon their arrival, his aggressive response necessitated the use of physical force and non-lethal weapons to ensure safety.
After being restrained, the man was transported to a hospital for treatment, and a Circumstantial Occurrence Report was filed against him, emphasizing the police’s attempt to manage the situation while preserving his safety, given his distressed and drug-influenced state.
