A couple in St. Petersburg, Russia, had a terrifying accident when an argument on their balcony led to them crashing through the railings and falling to the ground below. The incident, captured on video, shows Olga Volkova and Yevgeny Karlagin, both 35, struggling on their second-floor balcony before the dramatic fall.
The video, taken by a passerby, lasts only seven seconds but shows the couple suddenly breaking through the balcony’s railings and landing on the pavement. They were immediately taken to the hospital with serious injuries, though fortunately, these were not life-threatening.
Witnesses reported that the couple, who have a young son, were arguing around 10 am on a Saturday morning. The local prosecutor’s office is now investigating if the balcony’s condition contributed to the accident, which could result in legal action against those responsible for its maintenance.
An eyewitness named Denis, who was filming the street for its historical value, captured the incident. He mentioned that someone with medical knowledge checked on the couple, confirming they were alive, before an ambulance arrived. Both suffered broken bones but are expected to recover.
