A man under the influence of drugs assaulted several people with a knife in the Sidi Bernoussi district of Casablanca . The intervention of a police officer neutralized him, but one of the injured succumbed to his injuries.
The events took place in the early afternoon. The 29-year-old suspect assaulted nine people for no apparent reason. One of the people, seriously affected, died from his injuries.
Faced with the threat and to protect passers-by, a police officer had no choice but to use his service weapon and he was shot in the leg, which made it possible to control him and put an end to his murderous madness.
An investigation was opened by the competent prosecutor’s office to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and the motivations of the aggressor. The suspect is currently in police custody.
