One person was killed, and three others were injured in a bar shooting in Ecuador’s Samborondón canton. What began as an evening of laughter and relaxation quickly turned into a scene of horror on Sunday, December 3.

In videos from the incident, patrons can be seen desperately taking cover, including two teenagers huddled under a pool table as gunfire rings out. In another clip, two women and a man rush into the bar amid the chaos. A couple, seated at a table, also scrambles for safety; the woman runs to the side, while the man tries to shield himself between the seats.

A man, dressed in black pants and a white shirt, enters the bar wielding a submachine gun, firing indiscriminately. The terrified women who had hidden at one end scream, drawing the shooter’s attention as he directs fire toward their hiding spot.

Amidst the terror, the woman with the man at the table manages to escape unharmed, running out of the line of fire. The gunman eventually flees, but another man quickly appears at the door and begins shooting again.

By the time the ordeal ended, one person had tragically lost their life, and three others were left injured. As of the latest update, the National Police has not yet released an official statement on the incident.
