Scooter Crash Chaos: A Couple’s Unwanted Drama

“No help! I don’t want an ambulance, no police, nothing!” shouted the man who hit the garden fence of a house in St. Willebrord popped. He drove at full speed over the sidewalk and lost control of the steering wheel. When he ends up at the tips of the garden fence, he screams in pain. The residents of the house are shocked.

A day after a dramatic accident, a 33-year-old woman and her boyfriend found themselves still reeling from the incident. On Tuesday afternoon, while they were at home, a man on a scooter crashed into their garden fence at high speed. The woman, who was watching TV at the time, described the impact as “a huge blow, really very intense.

Security camera footage captured the scooter speeding up the sidewalk at 4:02 p.m., colliding with a wall before coming to a halt on the fence. Immediately after the crash, the scooter driver, visibly agitated, refused all offers of assistance, shouting that he wanted no help, no ambulance, and no police involvement. A passerby who stopped to help had already dialed 112, but the injured man insisted on leaving the scene.

Despite his refusal, the woman and her boyfriend tried to assist. The man’s injuries were severe; his shorts were torn, and he was badly cut. A nearby car driver, who narrowly avoided hitting the scooter as it swerved in front of him, was also bewildered by the man’s refusal of aid. The injured man quickly left the scene, limping away down the street.

Not far from the accident, the injured man was again offered help by bystanders who, despite his initial refusal, intervened due to the severity of his bleeding foot. They wrapped his foot in a garbage bag and drove him to Roosendaal’s emergency room. The police, upon arriving at the scene, found the scooter abandoned but were unable to interview the man in the hospital due to privacy restrictions, complicating their investigation.

The aftermath left the couple’s property and car stained with blood, and they discovered scooter parts and bags of what appeared to be drugs in their garden. Concerned for their safety and dealing with property damage, they handed over their camera footage to the police, who are now trying to identify the scooter driver. The couple is also preparing to file a report for the damage incurred, feeling uneasy about the whole ordeal.
